Matthew Williamson for H&M
I decided not to go to neither part of the Mathew Williamson opening collection for H&M. After what happened with the Roberto Cavalli opening where the clothes lasted less than one minute on the rack and girls were acting like wild animals protecting their prey I decided that I will not participate this time.
To my luck , last Thursday as I was buying a gift for a friend at H&M, I saw that some parts of the collection were still there. Mostly the summery exotic stuff which I think did not do very well in Vancouver because of the colourful wild prints and the exotism of it. obviously these looks do not go well with the whole nature in the woods that Vancouverites love to wear. I was talking with a fellow Vancouverite fashion blogger about the fact that here if u dress too colorful people will take u as an alien from another planet. Although girls are fashionable in Vancouver, dark neutrals definitely dominate their closets. I guess its the same anywhere. If u have a colder climate people will go for the darker and neutrals. When u live in a hot climate, colours, prints and white dominate your wardrobe. It's common fashion sense so in a way it should come as no surprise that those pieces did not do so well.
Anyways here are the 2 pieces I bought. U will never see me in the swimsuit( i would never post a swimsuit pic unless I drop 5 pounds and grow 10 cm). it looks better on Daria's body anyways.
As to the tunic cover-up, I love it. I think this is a piece that will never go out of style. I can see myself wearing it when I'm 40 and 50 over a swimsuit and still look chic in it.

Beachyness
Cardigan: Betsey Johnson
Tank: Old Navy
Necklace & shoes: Aldo
Skirt: some stand in Las Vegas
Sunglasses: vintage
The day was gorgeous and warm today so we went to the beach at English Bay. We sat on the grass on a blanket and ate yummy shawarma wraps from Babylon Cafe while people watching.
I'm wearing my Betsey crochet cardigan again. I love it for this kind of weather because its the perfect throw over a tank on warm days.

Courting the Law
Top: Behnaz Sarafpour ( for Target)
Skirt: Proenza Schouler ( for Target)
Shoes: Federica Balducci
Sunglasses: H&M
Necklace: Aldo
Cuff & Clutch : vintage
I'm so happy now that I got my shoes from Romania after i saw Eda wearing them. I hope u don't hate me Eda that i got them too. I just fell in love with them when i saw your post. I must admit they looked better on you with the purple tights. Surprisingly they are a lot more comfortable that I expected them to be. They would be even more if they would be the right size but I had to settle for the next best size up so my foot slides a little when I walk.
I guess summer is around the corner and I can no longer hide my short and stubby legs behind black tights. I am a bit conscious of them. Not only do I have short legs on top of that I am bow legged so my knees have a weird shape and my calves kind of curve outwards. It takes a lot of pain and effort for me to be able to touch my knees together. I remember when I was young my mom took me to a special gymnastics class that was supposed to make your legs back to normal. I guess those exercises never worked on me cause my legs are still messed up.

Maxi & I
Top: Bizz Princess
Cardigan: Betsey Johnson
Jeans: UO
Bag: Urban Planet
Sunglasses: Ray Ban
Necklace: Aldo Accessories
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang
Maxi hasn't made an appearance for a long time so this time I allowed him to be in the pics. Isn't he adorable? I think so but I'm his mommy and mommies always think their babies are the most special.
A lot of you seem to like my pics and have asked me what camera I use. I am very lucky that my bf who is passionate about photography has a Canon 450D SLR and uses his EF70-200 2.8-F L lens. They are a bit pricy so I dont recommend that u just go out and buy it unless u are seriously passionate about photography or are a super serious blogger. I believe u can achieve good pics with a plain point & shoot camera. Mine is not the greatest but it does a decent job.

Bridged Away
Top: Old Navy
Skirt, Tights & Shoes: H&M
Necklace: Target
Hat: AA
Sunglasses: vintage
These photos were taken on the Granville Bridge. I was scared to death to walk on it cause I'm so afraid of heights. Maxi was also scared and preferred to walk on the road instead of the designated sidewalk. The railings have a huge gap at the bottom and you get the sensation your foot could just slip through it. I bet Maxi felt the same thing. On the way back we took the Burrard Bridge cause it is a lot sturdier.
I got this skirt for this summer with the idea that I would get an office job and would need something more professional looking. Until now that doesn't seem to have happened. I will try to get an unpaid internship or something because I'm afraid the summer will pass and I will not get any experience. At this point in my life gaining work experience is far more important than getting paid.

Think before you leap!
Blazer: Mango
Top: Miss Me Collection
Boyfriend Jeans: American Eagle
Wedges: Aldo
On Tuesday my bf took me out for sushi. I wasn't really in the sushi mode but i know how much he likes it so I decided to just go. I usually love sushi but lately I have been eating so much of it that I'm sick of it. We went to our usual place, Tsunami Sushi just cause we love to sit at the floating boat bar and pick our own choices. On our way there I stopped to take a pic of my outfit again and this girl just walked up to me and was like " you are so pretty." Thx random girl. I love compliments by total strangers.

Wings
Cardigan: Victoria Secret online
Tank: Borrowed from my Bf
Scarf: Gift
Leggings: Zara
Boots: Ebay
These photos are from this past Friday when a group of us went to WINGS, an all American sports bar whose specialty is u guessed... wings!!!!!!! I decided to dress the part and wear my fringe boots and leathery leggings which my bf was not too happy to see once again. On the way there I stopped in this alley to get my pics taken. I thought the wall and the gate were a good background. I tried my best not too touch the damn wall cause it smelled like urine really badly. Yuck!

Tunic: Romanian peasant-top
Jeans: Sirens
Shoes: don't remember the brand.
Belt: thrifted
Hat: American Apparel
Sunglasses: Vintage
I have always asked my sis to shoot with me in the past and she always refused. This time she was extremely insistent on being in the pics. She also insisted on posting a picture of only herself as well. She did her own styling so it would be more authentic. So there u go, now u can meet the person behind some of my photos.
Sis's outfit
Jacket: Danier ( mine)
Dress: Aritzia
Tights: UO
Shoes: Payless ( yes those are the ones i tend to wear too)
Sunglasses: H&M ( also mine)
I was also tagged by the wonderful Hayley of Fashion Duck to reveal 7 things about myself. I kinda did something similar last week so I have no idea what to reveal about myself... hmmm... let's see.
1.I am very happy that the EU has decided to ban Canadian seal products. This has put and end to an extremely cruel and pointles industry here in Canada.
2.I like to spend hours in Indigo or Chapters( book stores), read and take notes from fashion books but not buy them in the end.
3. I am afraid of the dark and I tend to sleep with the lights on unless there is somebody in the same room as me.
4.I am not a morning person and if u wake me before 10:00 AM i will probably be extremely grumpy and a complete bitch.
5.I do not have enough closet space in my apartment even though I actually have 3 closets.
6. I like to drink my tea in vintage cups I buy at flea markets and pretend I am a fancy English lady or a NY socialite.
7.I always sit at the back of the class in the far corner because I'm afraid I will get picked on to participate during class.
And now I tag these amazing bloggers to reveal things about themselves:
1.Eda's Planet
2.Fashion in my Eyes
3. Sassy Style
4.Through the looking glass
5. Le Tasche
6.In-Closet
7.Carola's Musings
