Happy Halloween

Wishing everyone a happy and safe Halloween! I'm very excited for it this year as a large group of us are going to Ginger 62 which has a burlesque theme and we are all dressing up. I bought a vintage corset and a red crinoline and first thing next week I'll post pictures from our wonferul night! Hope everyone will have lots of fun!

If I was a princess...

If I would be 17-18 again and I could be a debutante at the Crillon Ball, my dress would look something like this:

No Parking Allowed

Wearing: BCBG blazer, Patricia Fieldwalker dress,Aldo cage wedges and statement necklace, Zara leggings, and aviators borrowed from BF.

I have totally forgot about this tunic/dress that I have had in my closet for so many years. I got it as as a thank you present from the designer herself. Patricia Fieldwalker is a Vancouver based luxury lingerie designer that I used to help out at her samples sales. The position was volunteer based but she was always nice enough that at the end of the day, she allowed me to choose one piece from her collection. I chose this pink tunic because I thought it looked like one of those pieces that could be lingerie but could be also anything you wanted to make of it. I love its draping corners and that is one of the main reasons why I chose this piece.

I'm thankfull for...

My thanksgiving outfit. Wearing: Sisley top, vintage skirt, Payless shoes

Canadians celebrate it a bit earlier than our fellow neighbours.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who have celebrated today!!!!!!!!!!!

Wearing a skirt that belonged to my mom during her high school years. The waist line is actually so small that I had to hike it up in order to be able to breathe in it. I had no idea my mom was that tiny.

Mistakes

I'm wearing: dress made by Lilian, Target shirt,Old Navy scarf,Payless booties, UO tights, HoneyRoom sunglasses, vintage bag

I have realized that through the photos I take for my blog I can observe my mistakes in outfits. When I first put this outfit together Friday, I thought it was cute. Now when I study the photos I realize the many flaws of it.The striped tights make my thighs look bigger than they are, the headband scarf reminds me of a peasant and the dress just does not fit right. This dress was a gift by one of my classmates in fashion school. She had made it as a project and I kept raving about it so at the end of the semester she gave it to me. Unfortunately I think there are some fit problems with this dress. We were young then and inexperienced in our techniques. I saw her graduating collection and I have to say it was one of the best from the whole class.

I must say I was way too cold in this outfit last week. I think it's time to bring out the wool coats.
