I'm no different

Shirt:Vintage
Skirt: Japan
Shoes & Belt: Aldo
Cuff: Vintage
Sunglasses: Le Chateau

So I know that a couple of posts ago I made fun of the girl who was almost wearing her ass out. Well I don't know what got into me, but last week I too sported a very short skirt to go out with my bf and best friend to grab some dinner. Hypocritical right?

I have a couple of these frilly skirts from Japan and I'm unsure if I want to get rid of them just because of their length. Actually they are not that short. They are meant to be worn on the hips so their actual length is ok.... I kinda hiked it up for this outfit so I could wear it with that belt.

I have promised the lovely Medina from Pret-a-Protester to share the inside of my makeup bag after I secretly went through hers as she was getting coffee. Oops! She caught me red handed though! Happy Father's Day

Today we celebrated Father's Day. I don't know if this celebration applies only to Canada on this day or if the whole North America celebrates it.
Anyways my dad doesn't like materialistic things like ties and pens and other stuff like that. He always wants hand made gifts or sentimental ones.
Me, my brother and my sister decided to give him a new framed photo of us since the last one he has is from the time I was 15.... ( my baby sister is now the same age.... do the math). We got dressed up... well I kind of did more than the others.... and here is the final result.

I love my sister's face in this one.

This is what I wore. I dressed kind of classic and businessy since the pic will hang in my dad's office. Also since it took 7 years for us to renew the last pic, I guessed that I should look as classic as I can so I won't regret my fashion choice another 7 years from now.

Wore:
Top: Kimchi Blue
Skirt: Zara
Shoes: H&M
Cuff: Erickson Beamon for Target

Happy Father's Day to all!

Long Overdue

These pic are from 2 Friday's ago when i went to Caprice Club for the opening of a friend's clothing line. I wont comment on the line itself.... that should make my opinion about it obvious.... I know what I wore is not really club apparel... but that's because I'm not a club goer, never have been and never will be and I will never dress like the girl in the third pic that is standing next to me. I actually don't know her but she was too drunk and kept being in our face thinking that she knew us from somewhere... alcohol does that to u.... again a reminder of why I don't go clubbing. From the pic it looks like she is our friend but I would never be friends with somebody whose ass is almost hanging out.... not that I'm necessary shallow but just because I wouldn't have any values in common with a person who dresses and behaves like that.

sorry for the bad quality of the pics

Oops... my slip is showing.... had to wear it because the dress is a bit sheer.

I'm wearing:

My other love

On Saturday, we celebrate my dear friend Jess's b-day party at Joe Fortes. The outfit I wore you've all seen before. I just added my Erickson Beamon cuff and changed the sandals to my yellow ones.

group shot after dinner

I decided that from now on I will also share with you my other love other than fashion: FOOD. I'm not really into clubs/bars/pubs but one thing i really enjoy are great restaurants with good food. So from now on I will also add a little restaurant review.
As I said we dined at Joe Fortes. The restaurant has a very old world feel like u stepped back into the 20's or 30's. This time though we dined on their rooftop patio which had a more relaxed atmosphere.

I had the Surf and Turf: a sirloin steak, jumbo tiger prawns, fresh herb mashed potatoes, summer vegetables and Cabernet jus.
I have to tell you I was very disappointed by this dish. The mashed potato felt more like mashed parsley and it had the same taste. The Cabernet jus was not enough and the dish overall was very dry. I would seriously not recommend this.

My BF had the Pork Chop with mashed potatoes, maple port reduction and apple honey compote. I think from everybody at the table he was the only one fully satisfied by his choice. I did not try the dish but he definitely recommends it.

My friend Heidi had the Cedar Smoked Wild Salmon with sweet pea ravioli, forest mushrooms, tomato and edemame. She personally did not like it because she thought the sauce was too much and took away from the flavour of the fish but I personally thought it gave it the just the right amount of flavour. I personally find fish very unflavourful so I personally recommend it.( I had a bite from this dish)

The one dish I keep thinking about and I would probably order it the next time I would dine at Joe Fortes is the Seafood Linguini with prawns, scallops, mussels and basil marinara sauce. Although the 2 people at the table that ordered that found empty mussel shells, I still thought it was the most delicious dish and also one of the more affordable ones.

As for dessert, I always have the Chocolate Lava Cake with vanilla gelato and cherries. Its really decadent and rich but its so yummy.

Target

Most of you wanted to see what I bought on my shopping trip to the States. Some of you asked if I went to NYC or Cali. hahaha NO! When I say I go to the States for a shopping trip, I means I cross the border and 30 minutes after, there is a small town mall with a Target in it, which is usually where I love to go.

Yes Target is one of my favorite stores to shop at especially when they have their designer collaborations. I would say 25% of my closet is Target.

Here is the stuff I got from the Tracy Feith Collection:

From this pic, I got the floral cropped jacket. I tried the skirt on too but I bought a similar one with a better print from H&M so I didn't really think it was a necessary purchase.
Sorry I was lazy to crop only the image of the items I bought.

From this pic, I got the blue sundress. I wanted to get the whole outfit but I actually didn't like a little something about the leather jacket. It had a rough edged look like it was really dirty and scruffed. It looked liked a thrifted jacket. Which I wouldn't mind necessarily but when it costs $138.00 I like my leather to look newer.

I also got this wrap top with an obi belt from their Go International Collection. It looks a lot better on. It's actually super low cut. It's probably pinned on the model or something.

In terms of accessories, I bought this Erickson Beamon cuff that I saw last time and I couldn't get my mind off it. Lucky for me it they still had it. It was probably too blingy for small town girls.

And the last piece which I am so happy I found are these Miss Trish of Capri sandals. I remember when I first read about her sandals in Harper's. I think I was around 15. I loved the shoes and wanted a pair so much but I knew I couldn't afford them. Lucky for me she had a collaboration with Target and I was able to score a pair for $30. Although they are not as intricate as her real ones, I still love them to death.

Outfits posts of these items will be coming soon...
