Goodbye 2010!

Today marks the last post of 2010!
I went through ups and downs with Faboulista this year...
There were times that I want it to shut it down and times that it brought me great joys and days of excitement....
In the end I realized that Faboulista is my very own personal diary of style evolutions and I need IT no matter how busy my schedule is.

I feel that without Faboulista and  your dear readership, my life would be missing not just a great excitement but a source of self exploration.
Having a blog has allowed me to meet so many inspirational people that now have a very special place in my life as dear friends.

Faboulista will forever be special to me so therefore I am exited to begin another year where I hope I will value the experience a lot more than I have in the past!

Many of you have expressed an interest in seeing how I will style the Eugenia Enciu skirt. Well today's very cold but beautiful weather prompted me to take it out for a little stroll around the city. I put it together with the my newest and warmest jacket from American Eagle that I got during Boxing Week Sales.

 See you all in the
New Year!!!

Santa came to town

Don't know if I've been naughty or nice this year but Santa sure payed me a visit!

From my mom and her family from Romania, I received a couple of wonderful pieces from young Romanian designers. Like every year, a package is sent to me for the Holiday Season where I get to pick and choose a couple of pieces from young talents that catch my eyes.
This is what I choose this year:

A wonderful braided vest by Fe[male]

... and The lovely and feminine La Chaterie blazer worn by Ioana in that inspiring 60's shoot

As to my boyfriend.... well he sure pays attention to what I want because he surprised me with a pair of black UGGS...
If you know me well, then you would know that till basically a month ago, I wouldn't have been caught dead wearing UGGS. But something that I can't yet put my finger on made me warm up to them this Holiday season...
...and because he knows how I almost contemplated waiting in the freezing snow for the Lanvin for H&M collection to get the tutu dress... well I must say he is the most resourceful boyfriend ever because he found my dream dress just in time for Christmas...

Although today marks the first day of my vacation, I have been able to enjoy a couple of free days last week where I spent them shopping for Christmas gifts for my dear ones.  Well at least that's what it was supposed to be because it soon turned into a shopping fest for myself.
I must say that I was very good though and didn't actually purchase anything. Just kept looking and wishing that Santa knows I've been a good girl!
WINK!

Sequins at Joe Fresh : Silver or Gold?.... Hmmm... tough decision!

A day in Chinatown

As I have already mentioned I got to spend my Saturday with Jen in Chinatown. It hit me that this was my second time there ever since I have moved to this city 12 years ago!

One thing I realized I don't do enough of is show you the interesting neighborhoods of this amazing city. This will have to change for the future. So without further ado I present to you Vancouver's Chinatown with the promise to return with amazing pictures of the other cool places to go in this city if you ever find yourself visiting!

I don't know why I don't come here more often. You can find the most exquisite things at ridiculously cheap prices. It truly is a shopping haven; you can find everything from your much needed groceries to aromatic teas, jewelery, traditional Chinese costumes and furniture. Right now I have my eyes on these two blue floral painted table lamps. For $29.99 each they are such an inexpensive way to add a little bit of colour to my pretty much monochromatic house!  I cant wait to return to get them as well as get some cute teapots and matching cups.
Plus the food here is to die for. You can truly find yummy Authentic Chinese food!

Ivory and Ebony

Saturday I had the pleasure of spending another lovely afternoon alongside the amazing Jen from Her Waise Choice. We really are becoming such a great duo. Notice how we dressed in contrasting colored coats!

I love spending time with Jen... she is such a great inspiration for me.
Her style is amazingly glamorous and elegant and I always find our conversations on fashion extremely interesting.
This will most definitely become a regular thing as we are getting more comfortable and closer to one another with each meeting!

Jen is wearing: No name coat, a combination of tights from Joe Fresh and Forever 21, Zara shoes,  Michael by Michael Kors clutch

I am wearing: Zara coat, H&M Top, Skirt & Tights, Payless boots, Target gloves, Vintage bag, Aldo jeweled headband

We hit Chinatown this time as it was long in the plans since our first meeting.
Culturally it was an overwhelming experience.
We started out eating BBQ meats in this little restaurant , then we took a stroll through Dr. Sun Yat Sen Garden and finished off shopping the great little Chinese shops in the neighborhood.
