Ahoy Sailor!

Wearing vintage dress and Aldo shoes

I found this dress in my mom's "youth" closet. When I mean youth I mean in her closet at her parent's house that still holds items she used to wear before she had me(the oldest of 3 siblings). I feel that the dress is too matronly on its own . I think it majorly needs some current accessories or something to bring it up to modern times. Maybe some alterations? What do u guys think? Any suggestions? I have no idea with this one.

This dress is complicated: The waist is high, and the shoulders "drop". I would consider removing the sleeves.

Did I miss something here? Is this your parents house? In any case, the chair and fireplace are magnificent.

Love the vintage dress!

Maybe you could use a huge black belt at the waist and put high black heels... and maybe shorten the sleeves... But yeah the main thing i guess would be to tighten the waist bit...
Cheers...

Gorgeous outfit! I love the dress, maybe if you replaced the bodice with a tighter, more cleavage barring one?

it looks fine on its own and good luck on how to make it better.

So pretty! I do agree though, it could use some alterations, maybe you could take off the bottom two panels? Other than that I can't think of any other alterations except maybe lopping of the collar...
Good luck! Post pictures of the finished dress!

i think it looks cute by itself but you could pull it up some and cinch it with a thin tan or brown belt.

I think you should leave it the way it is, I like it? You just can add some bold necklace or other accessories...
Btw, love the interior!

The dress is lovely - but you know I have a thing for navy stuff. You could wear it with a belt and maybe shorten the sleeves a bit! I also love the sandals and the decor is amazing!:)
